Even more hip results!

Vi'skaly's Betzy Lou has been hip-scored with the EXCELLENT result - AA! CONGRATULATIONS to the co-owners Rolf and Ann-Christine! Also, I would like to wish good luck for those going to Visby this weekend. We have a busy weekend, for once- not because of dogs! ONLY because of too many things...today we've cleaned the whole house...tonight it's dinner at my mum's cousin's place...tomorrow it's the Scanian Hunting and Fishing Fair, to be followed by us helping Pia with her moving boxes and bits AND to be followed by football golf and dinner to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. Sunday we have some puppy buyer's over for playing with the dogs and in the evening we're celebration my grandmother's 80th birthday! BUSY BUSY! But next weekend we're back to normal - dog show plus tracking training with the dogs...WOOHO! :) And after that we're looking forward to Sofiero International! SPEAK SOON!

The new hip-scores have arrived!
As Mattis and Maia had only reached an age of 17 months and 3 weeks when we first hip-scored them (due to one of those famous black-outs that happen to everyone), we re-did them a while ago...surprise, surprise - they hadn't changed ;)  Both Mattis and Maia have EXCELLENT hips - AA.

Right now I'm getting ready for my last lecture before the juridicial examination...yiiihaaa! but when that's been and past, the car is packed for a trip to Kalmar and Lina and Marcus! I CAN'T WAIT! Soooo looking forward to this weekend. Jill is having a progency group and we will see KARIN - Vi'skaly's Colourful Cabernet - on her first ever show! FINGERS CROSSED! Judge for the weekend is Mr Åke Cronander, who has done a great job judging Pyrs in the past!

Norwegian and Finnish news...
Three days ago me, Daniel and Jessica Snäcka (breeder of Dogo Argentino and Cimarron Uruguayo) started our journey to Oslo...Jessica brought a beautiful Borzoi female - Zowie, and we brought Mattis and Quila. Quila had decided to drop absolutely ALL her coat - just in time for our Scandinavian little trip! But anyway - we had a GREAT day! For judge Astrid Indrebö from Norway, Mattis beat A LOT of nice males, was 2nd Best Male after top winning Belmondo de Beaute Blanche. Mattis won a Reserve CACIB and a CAC! :)  Quila was 2nd in open class with an excelleny, and also the last female to be thanked when the four best females were to be chosen..in a show with almost 30 dogs that is a very, very pleasing result!

Just as we thought we had have enough of success - wonderful news arrived from Finland! Vi'skaly's Top Tempranillo a.k.a TEMPO - who lives with Tiina Weurlander at kennel Soulman's - was not only Best of Breed Puppy...but also Best Puppy in Group and BEST IN SHOW PUPPY!!! WELL DONE TIINA AND TEMPO! We are so proud! The pictures below are from Tempo and his sister Minttu (from combination Jillaroo-Cachemire)- all pictures are taken by the lovely people at kennel Chenespace.

Back home from the Swedish National!
The best week of the year has now come to it's end...Norje Boke has been and past! We arrived at the show ground already at the Sunday a week before the show (but believe me, we were not the first Pyr people there!). As every year, we had some wonderful days with close friends and their dogs. At the Tuesday, Tuulia of Chenespace kennels in Finland arrived with the 2 years old female "Stella" - Chenespace Milla Mignonne. We went home and collected Spirit - and boy! did he like ot be back on a show ground? He LOVED it! Kissing dogs and people and, of course, meeting lovely Stella! We had two brilliant matings before Tuulia went back home to Finland again.

Judge for this year was the American breed specialist Jean Pero...we were excited, as last time an American judge was over (at the club show 2003) - her winners were Vi'skaly's Fabian Sirius Do-Ca and Vi'skaly's Nordique Nikita. Also this year we had some GREAT results! The entry for the day was over 50 dogs!

Some new puppy plans... ---> puppies page
Sooo, it's decided. Our lovely Breeze are being bred to the beautiful Finnish dog Chenespace Garcon a.k.a Kassu later this year. We're very much looking forward to this combination and are certain to see some beaufitul puppies with lots of substance and well-built bodies ---> all with a breed typical head and expression.

Kassu pictures are taken by kennel Chenespace - they mustn't be used without a written permission! The picture to the left is shot by Tytti Grönqvist and the one to the right is from 2009 years Veteran of Veterans in Finland.

Updates from shows!
Long time since I last updated this blog! OH WELL! Not to complain, better late than never. And we've had some BRILLIANT weather in Sweden these last couple of weeks... Aarup in Denmark 25th of July - Vi'skaly's CC Rider won the CAC, was Best Female and also BEST OF BREED! Her brother (also brother to our Mattis and Maia!) - Vi'skaly's Razzle Dazzle won a CAC and was chosen as Best Male! WELL DONE to these stunning little Vi'skaly's babies and their owners. A Big hug to Birthe and Cinnamon Ginger for great achievements this weekend...and to the puppy owners that are making a wonderful work with their little babies!

Köping in Sweden - "Ziva" - Vi'skaly's Sazzy Shiraz makes a great debute winning Best of Breed Puppy! Well done Anna and Björn.

What more! Plans are made...nothing official yet. BUT - we're probably breeding two girls this winter and we might also breed Maia later in 2011. Breeze is a top producer and expectations are high...her daughter Quila is having her first litter - but what to expect from this BEAUTIFUL female? We are SO excited!!!

Norje Boke is getting closer and closer. We have over 50 dogs entered for American Pyr specialist Mrs Jean Pero...EXCITING! We're probably leaving already on Sunday to be able to spend a weeks at the show ground before the show is starting.

OK! Speak soon, I better get on with getting the dogs ready for the club show...

Woody is a Swedish Champion and Quila has made her debute in the Group ring!
At the national show in Borås this weekend we had Woody and Quila with us. Judge for the day was well-known breed specialist Mrs Elina Happaniemi and she found her best dogs in our siblings...Quila was Best of Breed and Woody was Best Opposite Sex - he also gained his last CAC towards his Championship title! WELL DONE! Quila's debute in the big ring was nothing to be ashamed off...Mr Stefan Sinko chose her as the 2nd best dog in the group! Pictures below show Quila to the left and Woody to the right.

This weekend we're looking forward to the two-day show in Tvååker...with us we'll have Quila, Mattis, Uno and Pixel...and of course some of our wonderful puppy-buyers will meet us there as well!

We have had a GREAT weekend with lovely people. Emma was Best Veteran all three days with a Basenji male and Jenny wasn't only Best of Breed two of the days - she won the group with beautiful Qiwi who proudly carries the flag now whilst Qing is making history in the States. Vi'skaly's is, once again, home of both Swedish Winners of the year! Way to go!
Avesta is Dalarna proved to be yet another great show for team Vi'skaly's. Me and Daniel started from Löberöd Friday morning and arrived in Avesta in the afternoon, just in time to sneak into the showground and put our tent and crates up ready for the morning. Back at the hotel we had a lovely evening with the dogs, beer, pizza and the FIFA World Cup on the telly :) Quila, Mattis and Woody are great dogs to bring for a road trip! They've been stars! Anyway. Saturday morning the clock was set (not needed due to three dogs dying for a wee at half six!) and up we went...but CHRIST it rained! Puha...dogs were wet and we were wet. And! The hotel claimed not to serve breakfast until 9 am at weekend so we didn't bother to go out and see - which we should have done! As so many dog people came, they decided to make an exception! Oh well...time was speeding and we thought we'd be better off just getting a quick bite and a coffee at the showground. Off we went! Dogs were groomed...Lina was in time (wooho!) and Obi was groomed as well...the show started and we were the first breed for the day. Judge for this year's Swedish Winner Show was Mr Andrej Kazmierski from Poland, and his choice for Best of Breed was Mattis! Vi'skaly's Hippy Hippy Shake. Best Female was Quila - Vi'skaly's A Spoonful of Stardust. 2nd Best Male was Vi'skaly's African Tunda. What a great result! Beautiful dogs were beaten. Woody's babies - Måns and Hedvig at kennel Bambellas - both was awarded with Excellent! :)

After the judging, me and Daniel packed the dogs in the car and went as fast as we could to Kalmar were I was scheduled as judge for an unofficial show at the Sunday. It proved to be a lovely day with great weather, and judged group 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10. After the jduging I had the honour the judge the Best in Show-final...my Best in show for the day was a BEAUTIFUL 11 months old female Rough Collie. 2nd was a Saluki, 3rd was a young and promising Hungarian Wizla, 4th was a Miniature Schnauzer and 5th was a Portuguese Water Dog. I had a great day! Thanks to Kalmar BK for the invitation! :)

MATTIS' DEBUTE IN THE BEST IN SHOW RING!
At Vänersborg National we had a GREAT day! Mattis gained his 5th Best of Breed (out of five!), his 4th Group placement (out of four shows on the group system) and finished as Best in Show 2nd for Mr Oo Hock Tan from China! We are honoured and proud about this wonderful achievement from this young and promising dog. Now Mattis is back home with the puppies to play with and his girls to flirt with! Next show is Avesta next weekend...

Results from the UK and some pictures of Kate and Kasper!
Yesterday I had some pictures sent to me from Linda and James. Their "Kasper" - Vi'skaly's Allington - absolutely loves his life at the moment! I don't blame him, he's been given a chance to be around a lovely little Sheltie and a lovely, slightly larger, Kate! Kate is doing brilliant and loves the whole family...I'm attaching the pictures I got! :)

Good news from the UK! Alfa (Vi'skaly's Amazing Alfa) was Best of Breed at the big show in Birmingham! WELL DONE Keith, Carol and - of course! - Alfa! We're so proud and happy for your sake! We wish you the best of luck for the upcoming shows in the UK and Europe. Fingers crossed!

LOADS of updates from the season's first shows! AND WHAT A GREAT START!
The first shows are now completed - all with great results for team Vi'skaly's! At Gränna two weekends ago, Obi - Vi'skaly's African Tunda - was Best of Breed and gained his championship title. Our blessed little puppies - Uno and Pixel - were Best of Breed Puppy and Best Opposite Puppy. Pixel drew the shortest straw and was also chosen as Best In Show Puppy! Judge: Petra Junehall.

At the next show at Hässleholm International last weekend, we had another GREAT show day! Once again Obi was chosen as Best of Breed and he also went on to win Group 5 for Karl-Erik Johansson. Beautiful Quila - Vi'skaly's A Spoonful of Stardust - gained her championship title and was also Best Opposite Sex for the day. Baltzar - Vi'skaly's Nordique Norton was Best Veteran and 2nd Best Male. Vi'skaly's Spicy Orange - Obi's brother - got the male CAC. Best Breeders Group was Vi'skaly's! I'm attaching some pictures from the weekend. FOR MORE PICTURES - have a look in the gallery!!!

HUGE congratulations from us at Vi'skaly's to the Swedish crew that went to the Norweigian specialty with GREAT results. Li and Micke's "Alma", a grandchild of Vi'skaly's Jazz Joy of Mountain and Vi'skaly's Nordique Nikita, was 2nd Best Bitch and won the bitch CAC. CONGRATULATIONS!

Doble, Fia and Olmo have now gone home...
The trip to Frankfurt went ever so smooth. The hotel was 2 minutes off the high-way and no accidents on our way there. It was nice to see Joan again - thank you so much for the wine and "Cerdanya-specialties". It was also very nice to meet Francesca and her friend Francesca...Olmo loved his new mummy and his travel companion "Schizzo". Fingers crossed for his first show this weekend! GOOD LUCK OLMO! :) I am attaching some pictures of Joan and his two babies.

This weekend it's time for "Gränna", which is a SBHK-show four hours up north. Me and Dani are leaving Friday morning to meet Lina with Obi, and then me, Dani, Obi, Maia, Uno and Pixel are heading for the show ground. We're bringing the house-wagon and hope for an enjoyable weekend!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Peggy & Laban and to Li & Alma on your wins in Skara last weekend!

Sorry for being slow with the updates!
But I do have some news to share with you! A presentation of me will be posted in this issue of the International Magazine (as the Swedish correspondant)...hopefully not too many spelling errors! :) Hunter (Vi'skaly's Bouncy Bolero) has now arrived in the US safe and sound...he lives at kennel Oneida Acres with Brigitte Doxtator. We wish you and the little Hunter the best of luck for the future! A bad thing to report too though...mum never made it to the US for the World Conference in Great Pyrenees...sue to the bl**dy vulcano eruption on Iceland...GRR! Oh well...we hope Keith and Carol have a great time and that we will make it next year for the US National and in 5 years for the next World Conference. NEVER MIND! :)

NEW PICTURES OF OUR THREE ANGELS! Uno, Poppy and Pixel  :)

Obelix will stay in Sweden! A puppy will go to Equador instead, and Obelix has moved to Lina and Marcus (with Jillaroo). We wich you best of luck! This far he's done NOTHING wrong...been an angel...hopefully he will keep it that way! :) Ralle was home for a few days when Agneta and David were in Uppsala...so now he's been groomed and fixed for the summer...looking BRILLIANT! We do miss him though......

12th of April
Spring is here!
What more to wish for? Reminder - this weekend a course is arranged in Lenhovda..."KIROPRAKTIK". In Sunday afternoon...250 SEK. Give me a call if you want to join in!

...but all haven't left yet! Still the foreigners here preparing for their journey :)

Good news from Holland! Vi'skaly's Honky Tonk Man just gained his 2nd Best of Breed! After winning the title in Amsterdam, he now won again in Leeuwarden (International). WELL DONE! "Nilsson" is now a Dutch Junior Champion. We are very, very proud!

And - good news from Stockholm International! Were Woody's daughter "Hedvig" was Best of Breed Puppy.

Champion of Champions took place this weekend...and Baltzar was such a good boy! There is a beautiful picture of him in Anna Grevin's blog;

Loved always, missed forever.
Time is ticking and times are changing. Our highly loved veterans are getting older and for some of them the weight of the day is getting too heavy. Today our wonderful female Vi'skaly's Carissma Satí sadly passed away. She reached the respectable age of 12 years, and she will be in our hearts forever.

Another Vi'skaly's-dog that will be missed forever is Happy Hamlet, who passed away yesterday at the age of 9 years. Our thoughts are with his owners.

24th of March
Last exam is done and over with! Next course starts....tomorrow! :/
Oh well, you weren't born to rest they say...and boy, we don't! However, my last exam I finished a couple of hours ago...feels OK. I just hope it's good enough so that I won't have to bother about statistics no more! :)

I know some of friends have seen our white car...or, "white", car. Last summer there were weeds all over it and during the winter the doggies have used it as a place to sleep on top of. But - today! We sold it! To a friends of ours who loves Volvos and who knows how to make them cooperate. I personally don't do cars...I make dogs cooperate - but cars are still a mystery to me! Daniel's a bit better with that though (thank God!).

Results from Malmoe International!

Mattis Best of Breed (again!) and Group 4th! Only 5 out of 25 dogs were awarded with a CK - all of them being bred by Vi'skaly's...we're delighted! Breeders and progency group won, as welll as the veterans! GREAT STUFF! :)

Next weekends we're off to Stockholm to compete at Champion of Champions with Baltzar (Vi'skaly's Nordique Norton)...and I have nothing to wear! Will have to sort that out. Anyway, we're probably bringing a puppy with us...hard time getting puppies transported to their homes, but this time I think it's going to work out just fine! Arita and Oliver are helping us out and Ravishing Rondinella will leave next weekend to join her team at Soulman's (Tiina Weurlander) kennel in Finland.

All for me!

22nd of March
"Only" ten of them left now...
Puha...now most of them have left! We have Uno and Pixel left, and also the males which will be exported to the US, Spain and Italy. From the small puppies we've got Poppy (our female) left, three which are to be exported and one little boy that is still not sold. He is such a sweetheart though! Cheekiest of them all and with beautiful markings... I'm attaching a photo that I got sent to me from Daniel Lindgren with family..."BamBam" - Vi'skaly's Cool Chardonnay, who now lives one hour from our house in a family with five (!!!) kids...and he is doing brilliant! The kids love him and lots of kisses are being distributed! :) Also attaching a picture of "Rafal"...Vi'skaly's River Dance, who lives with Lotta and Eric in Malmoe.

11th of March
The puppies have started to go home now... :(
It's equally hard every single time! Even now when there's LOADS of them, it's sooooo hard to let them go! We love them to bits... Mr Mambo, River Dance and Qrazy Quicksted have gone home, and soon it's time for Twist and Shout, Terrific Tango and Cha Cha Cha... The boys that are going to Italy, Spain and the US will stay a couple of weeks more before going. Attaching pictures from when they were going home... Also of the dark boy that will go to Italy, pain or the US.........

AND! Well done Alfa! Reserve CC at Crufts today! Which means that she finished as 2nd Best Bitch in this huge competition! There is always over a hundred dogs and it's much prestige to win... Alfa has now been Best Bitch at Crufts one time, Reserve Best Bitch two times and 2nd in Open Class on year. GREAT! Not bad for a 6 year old bitch that just recently moved to the UK... And well done Keith and Carol! Thank you for taking such good care of her.

9th of March
Sundance Kid an Estonian Champion!
Well done Arita and Affe! He is now the first Vi'skaly's dog becoming an Estonian Champion (and first Vi'skaly's dog ever being shown over there!) - we send HUGE congrats for this wonderful achievement! On top of the title, Affe also became Best of Breed of the day.
Thanks for the picture!

The naughty little puppies (bless them!) are starting to go home tomorrow...it's hard! We love them to bits and will miss them a lot...but boy will things calm down once they've gone! Haha! I will post some new piccies as soon as they have been sent to me :) I will then post pictures of the puppies together with their new owners...

One more thing - ESTER will soon have a page of her own! Vi'skaly's Signe Tillisch.

Officially a TV-star!
Some weeks ago me and Mattis made our way into a recording studio in Malmoe... On the purpose of shooting a commercial for our dog food - Oliver's Petfood´. We've used Oliver's for a couple of years now and it's the best dog food we've ever had our dogs on. They all eat and have good weight on...this combined with their coat looking better than ever and all the puppies growing even and the veterans lasting long...well, that's it for us! Anyway, Mattis was chosen and didn't he do well?! Feel free to visit Oliver's Petfood's website ( www.olivers-petfood.se ) and see the commercial...otherwise - it's broadcasted tonight in the breaks of Ceaser Milans' series "Mannen som talar med hundar".
